What is Preview Day?
Thanks for your interest in the Sangamon County Youth Mentoring Summit!
Love mentoring? Think we need more of it in Sangamon County? We do, too.
Here's how you can get involved:

Register to attend the Youth Mentoring Summit on June 14th. Please register at www.SangamonCountyYouthMentoringSummit.Eventbrite.com, and feel free to email Nadia Gronkowski with any questions (Nadia@InnovateSpringfield.org).
This event is free and is primarily intended for youth mentoring program organizers, coordinators, and administrators who serve Sangamon County. Multiple staff members per program are welcome to attend, and please feel free to share this event with friends and peers who are engaged in youth mentoring.
The Sangamon County Youth Mentoring Summit will be held at the Memorial Center for Learning and Innovation's M.G. Nelson Family Auditorium in Springfield, Illinois. Free parking is available in the adjoining parking lot and parking garage. Coffee, water, and light snacks will be provided. Additional food and beverages are available for purchase in the event venue's Food for Thought Cafe, located just outside the auditorium.

12:30-12:50 Registration, Check-In & Networking
12:50-1:00 Introduction: Welcome from the Sangamon County Continuum of Learning
1:00-2:30 Workshop: The Elements of Effective Practice for Mentoring
Cheryl Howard-Neal, Director of Programs & Partnerships at the MENTOR Illinois, will host a workshop-style overview of the National Mentoring Partnership's guiding best practices handbook, the Elements of Effective Practice for Mentoring.
2:30-2:40 Break
2:40-3:10 Panel: Best Practices in Practice
Three local organizations share their efforts towards using evidence-based best practices to benefit their program's mentors, mentees, and families.
3:10-3:40 Small Group Discussions & Activity
MENTOR Illinois will lead interactive small group activities that will help participants envision how they can implement ideas from the day's best practices discussions in their own organizations.
3:40-3:50 Break
3:50-4:20 Presentation: Resources for Mentoring Organizations
Sarah Tapscott from Forefront will share mentoring organization resources that are rooted in evidence-based best practices.
4:20-4:30 Closing
