event description

The Illinois Student Assistance Commission and the Sangamon County Continuum of Learning are hosting a workshop on the Post-Secondary and Career Expectations (PaCE) Framework.  The PaCE Framework maps out the college and career readiness milestones that youth should reach between 8th and 12th grades related to:

●     Career Exploration and Development;

●     Post-secondary Education Exploration, Preparation, and Selection; and

●     Financial Aid and Literacy

This workshop will introduce PaCE as a tool for outside-of-school programs (e.g. after school and Summer) to use in organizing and guiding their curriculum and activities related to college and career readiness.  This will ensure that the work of our local schools and our local out-of-school programs is mutually-reinforcing and cohesively supports less-advantaged youth in achieving their post-secondary goals.
