What is Preview Day?

Innovate Springfield (iSPI) is a community of curious minds exploring new ideas, examining challenges, and creating solutions. We are looking for someone to help manage our community. If you are hyper-organized and solution-driven, you should reach out and show us why you would be a great Community Manager for iSPI.

Official iSPI Greeter/Welcome Wagon

  • Serve as the first face seen at iSPI and welcome all visitors by greeting them, in person or on the telephone; answer or refer inquiries regarding membership, events, and more. You really need to like people. 

  • Give tours of the iSPI office to potential members and walk-ins. 

  • Purchase and maintain office supplies. 

  • Be a snail mail expert: incoming, outgoing-- you'll handle it all.

  • Open and close office and ensure the premise is fully secured upon leaving. 

  • Coordinate with building maintenance staff on work orders. You'll get to know Eddie. Eddie fixes stuff. Eddie is awesome.

Administrative Champion

  • Provide support to the Executive Director, Social Innovation Program Coordinator, and iSPI volunteers as needed. It takes a village, and you will be a central part of that village.

  • Assist with editing and production of promotional materials and monthly e-newsletter.

  • Assist with website updates.

  • Maintain all files, records, databases, calendars, and policies and procedures.

  • Work on special projects as assigned.

  • Assist in preparation of materials for Board and committee meetings.

  • Transcribe minutes for Board and Committee meetings.

  • Complete follow-up tasks after meetings. Experience with whip cracking a plus. 
     

Party Planning Committee Chair

  • Coordinate arrangements for internal meetings and events.

  • Coordinate special events and workshops at iSPI and provide staff support at events (catering, donations, setting up the space for programs, invitations, tracking RSVPs, and media inquiries).  Serve as all-around iSPI Cruise Director.

  • Assist in staffing events at iSPI during and after business hours.

Membership Manager

  • Provide first-time tours to potential members.

  • Register new members in invoicing system.  Coordinate and track monthly membership invoicing.

  • Coordinate all new member needs (door codes, printer installation, etc.).

  • Assist with weekly membership correspondence regarding upcoming events and activities at iSPI.

  • Work with Executive Director to plan and execute new member orientations and on-boarding.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Strong attention to detail and deadlines.

  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills.

  • Ability to handle sensitive information effectively.



 

Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Administrative support experience.

  • MS Office and Adobe Office Suite proficient.

  • Familiarity with business, non-profit, and/or event planning a plus.

Qualified applicants should have a high degree of personal initiative and ability to work independently with the desire and ability to meet aggressive and strategic goals; have strong written and oral communication skills and be an active listener; and be well-organized and diligent.
